Don’t Stress…

I gave up my orthodontic retainers {after 10 years of wearing them} after Morgan was born. I guess Erika is waiting until she has her first child. She called this morning to tell me she accidentally left it here. I panicked. Leaving your retainer in my house {within reach of children} is like leaving prime rib on the counter with a dog in the house. So, I shuffled off to the bathroom hoping it was safe and sound on the counter. Nope. The “case” was there but no retainer. I told Erika the search would begin but that I could make no promise that it didn’t get flushed down the toilet {like baby Jesus did from our Nativity set}.

Well, Erika… I found it. Safe in sound in the girls doll house. Appropriately, it is in the bathroom. When I took it away Morgan said, “why does MommaSissy have that crown?”

Erika, it’s time to give up the crown. But never fear, if you’re not ready to give it up… I can mail it to you!

Oh my gosh – I’m killing myself laughing. I love that the case was still there, all innocent like. Yeah, my crown was given up after the second time I threw it away during school lunches. My Mom refused to keep buying new ones. I still hold it over her head why my bottom teeth are crooked again 🙂

I almost wrecked the car trying to figured out exactly where you found my retainers… I was in such suspense. Then I was laughing so hard I could hardly drive. I know its really dorky to wear retainers still, but I went through a lot for straight teeth and so I wear them EVERY night. You know when I went back for a new one a few years ago Dr.Talbot said “Oh my, I wasn’t expecting to see you in here? You still wear your retainers?”. I’m the best orthodontic patient ever. I’d like to be buried in my retainers.
    peace,

Okay, so I thought that was a full-size playhouse until I blew the picture up and “spotted” the crown and realized it was nearly as big as the chair!!! Great one!

I’m still thinking about poor baby Jesus from the nativity scene. I had to laugh because my daughter did the same thing when she was little and we still use that same nativity without baby Jesus. She’s 24yrs. now. LOL

Oh man. I am so bummed out. I thought that was a picture of your girls’ powder room. Yep, sure did. I had to go back and look again to realize that was the “crown” in a doll house. Bummer, I was totally going to give you props on turning brick into super chic! Well, it is a precious doll house.

too funny! But, I have to say that I agree with MommaSissy…16 years later I am still wearing mine b/c after 2 years, 1 month and 3 days of braces, I refuse to go back. Though, I have to admit I am not as diligent with my wearing of them as she is…I gave up traveling with them about 3 years ago!
