Day 12:: Yesterday

artwork

I missed a day. My body is WORN. That’s what the title was going to be yesterday, but I didn’t get to it. I recognize my natural tendency towards being “a glass half-empty” person so I try to keep things peachy, rosy, sweet, and fun around here, however, these last few days my youngest child is getting the best of me. He doesn’t sleep much. Add a stuffy nose to that. Lots of snot. And 2 small teeth that are hiding under his gums… and well, he’s a little hornet and I’m his prey. He’s stung me with his venom and I’m praying soon that I will recover. He slept a little better last night… praise the Lord.

    Bless your heart – we’ve all been there – well, at least I have – and very recently. Henderson does great at night, but he’s a 30 minute napper – which drives me crazy – and if I’m anywhere to be seen, he wants me to hold him. As long as I can tip toe around him he’s fine. He got his first 2 teeth about 1 month ago and he was a “hornet” for 3-4 days (and nights) – It will get better, just hang in there!

    girl I am so with you on the glass half empty!

    I finally took Joel to the peds doc yesterday and he diagnosed him with a possible chronic sinus infection and put him on antibiotics. FINALLY! He has had thick green snot pouring out of him for over a month and has been periodically screaming at night for about the last 30 days. I’m exhausted. I’m pretty good about getting up with them when they are newborns but after about four months you can forget, I’m toast in the morning and all day long!

    I hope he gets to feeling better. On top of everything else he is also working on two molars and two eye teeth so I feel your pain!

    do you know that spencer earned the nickname “hornet” when he was about 6 months?! he is normally so sweet and cuddly, but when he gets mad or uncomfortable, he is furious! plus he didn’t sleep for the first year of his life and we’d hear him in the middle of the night and say “oh no, i hear the hornet buzzing in there.” just know you aren’t alone in the hornet’s nest:)

    Hang in there. I am praying Psalm 91:11-16 for you:

    For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he aknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
    With long life will I satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

    I really enjoy reading your blog. Thank you for being real and honest with us. It is easy to think that other’s lives are “perfect” when you read their blogs… it is comforting to know that we are not alone in our Mommy struggles. Blessings!
