Swelling Down… Color In

Well we’ve always had a good nickname for Paige: Raiger. Morgan has always been Morgan but now we may have to call her “bruiser” or maybe “shiner” would be better. I still don’t exactly know what happened other than she said she was getting under her bed and hit her eye {really her browline} on her wooden bed rail. When she got up from her nap yesterday she said, “Well it’s all better!” What a great little attitude she has but I imagine it will be the better part of a week before it’s really all better. We did have our opthamologist friend take a look… he said, “she’s fine!” The swelling has gone down, the color has come in. It just doesn’t look too fine… unless you’re the fightin’ kind.

My sweet girl. You can imagine how people reacted at church this morning. A pretty little girl with a big purple eye. She got plenty of attention. Although at age 4 she wasn’t too impressed with it. I remember faking sprained ankles/wrists so I could wrap myself up in an ace bandage…. I’m thinking you don’t get too excited about “injuries” until you’re 7 or 8.

I hope you all are enjoying the Lord’s Day. I’m looking at Justin who is sprawled out on the sofa and completely out… I may just have to take a nap myself!

    Glad her eye is okay!

I can remember the days when all mine took a nap…oh I miss it dreadfully. Now only 25% take a nap and I’m constantly shushing the other 75%

Such is life, they are awful fun at school age too.

Poor Morgan! Glad to know that Joe took a look at it. Hope the swelling/discoloration goes down soon. Miss you! Are you guys going to be around the weekend of 2/27–2 weeks from now? We might come down for a visit and Kid’s Market since I’m going to need boy clothes!

There was a girl in my jr. high who sprained her ankle and walked around with crutches for over 6 months. It was kinda pitiful. But probably not as pitiful as when I faked a lisp in 2nd grade so I could go to speech therapy with my best friend.

I’m glad Morgan’s swelling is going down! She’s a trooper.

Bless her heart!! Glad she has such a good attitude!! When we use to get hurt at my house, my Mom would let us hit whatever it was that hurt us (NOT siblings of course) but things like beds or the concrete if we skinned our knees, and it ALWAYS made me feel better 🙂 She would say “BAD Concrete for hurting my baby, you need to be nicer next time!” 🙂

I told Russell last night how much I enjoyed our conversation and might have to make it a weekly thing! 🙂 Seriously! Maybe even just every other week if you’re up for it.
Jenn and Emily (her sister) brought us dinner last week, and the dessert was the icebox cake from your blog!!! Remember me texting AND commenting that I wanted it???? I got it! Isn’t GOD so good! Jenn is such a sweetheart! I never said anything to her, and I know (thru Emily) that they had to go to THREE different stores to get the chocolate wafers! We’re still enjoying it!!!
Love you! Kiss that bruiser for me!
