I Fought the Rover and I won

Our day was going so well. I cut the last rose standing. He was totally pumped about it.

Even closed his eyes to smell… what a connoisseur!

It was only minutes later when he came out of the girls room looking like this.

I inquired as to why he thought he was so cute and what writing utensil he used to apply his war paint. Little did I know this was his game face. He returned with the marker in hand.

I won!

He quickly recovered and was consoled with animal bracelets {aka Silly Bandz}. You’ve probably noticed my children are slightly into these little bracelets.

I’ll leave you with my turkeys! My mother-in-law gave me both of these “kits” years ago to turn your Halloween pumpkins into Thanksgiving turkeys. The green pumpkins are compliments of my farmer husband who assures me theyr’e supposed to be green.

**Rover’s little Lab applique design came from Applique Avenue for those of you with embroidery machines! Kelly has a great selection of really cute designs for great prices!! Thank you, Leslie & Kelly! 🙂 We love a “woof, woof”!

I love this…some time ago my daughter was helping me make a “grocery list” with orange and black markers…I went to the kitchen to gather some cook books and upon return…she had colored her entire face…I snapped a great picture to hold for future bribing! Love the turkeys, they are really cute!

Thanks for the link Darby! Your blog rocks! I am totally guilty of stalking you! You have inspired me to get a REAL camera for xmas! I am sure I will be back with some questions.

How in the world do you always have your camera ready for these moments???? I won yesterday against Henderson and a popsicle – he was determined NOT to eat it outside and to hang it upside down and let it drip drip drip all over the house, so to the trash it went, but not without a BIG fight for it! I sure didn’t have my camera though – do you keep that thing around your neck at all times, and if so, how do you keep it safe?????

Silly Bandz just got re-stocked at a local shop down the street from us and Emma Claire informed me that she told Santa she wanted 5 packs – 3 for her and 2 for her brothers!!! To the store I will be going – to add to the 153 we already have!!!! They just keep multiplying!!!!

I’ve been laughing so hard… I’m crying now. LOVED the pictures & the battle paint. Don’t you just love their quick recovery! Rover looks & acts a lot like my son Ryan… almost to the T. That’s a daily ritual with my little guy too… But I win every time! ha ha ha I have to turn my head because it makes me laugh when we get into a tug of war & the screams start. Good times! Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful pictures on your blog! Your creativity, fabulous mommy skills {real & not sugar coated} & fun family outings are great! Love reading it… Keep on winning! Hope you & your family have a Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble

Darby, I came upon this blog of a young man fighting for his life. He has H1N1 and has been in ICU for a couple of weeks now. I know how faithful you are and he and his family need all the prayers they can get so I am passing it along to you…www.prayersforchris.blogspot.com
His sister is keeping it updated for family and friends. We all have so much to be thankful for, healthy children, a roof over our head, food on the table, family and friends to share our bounty and a God who is always with us. Your family is beautiful and I can see the Lord working through you to be able to touch others and at the same time share his glory…me included.
    God Bless.

See Darby! Boys are just so funny, my (future) mother in law has a before and after picture of Pete (my fiancee) looking so cute in these checkered bibs, and then one of him 5 minutes later after she went into the other room covered literally from head to toe in mud. So mischievous! I love it! Happy Thanksgiving!

You would crack up if you saw how my four kiddos come running when I announce that there’s another “John Martin post!” 🙂 My 8 and 7 year olds especially think he is just the cutest little guy. Of course, if those were THEIR markers he was confiscating, they’d probably feel differently.

Love the pics. And your turkeys are super cute!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all from all of us 🙂
