Ok, that last post was NOT supposed to be posted! It was supposed to be saved and laughed over between me and my sister and now I’m very embarrassed and I am sorry that it fed reader! Just goes to show that I am computer illiterate and very embarrassed. I’ll be back with some better blog material soon…

Hi sweet Darby! I don’t think your embarrassing post was posted (unless one would find grass planted in eggs embarrassing or offensive!) Anway…I am so curious what you and your sister were going to giggle about :) … but if I’m not mistaken…..it is still just between you two sweet sisters.
Blessings and many thanks for your wonderful blog! (And your sister’s!) KK

  • Comment by Leigh — March 3, 2010 @ 9:22 pm

OK – I’m sorry but I read your post, and I don’t think I’ve commented before, but you know I have to now… I just happened to have my reader up and refreshed it and read it… And I was laughing my head off! So funny! I was not offended at all and just glad to know that someone else has out of control conversations…. and thanks for giving me a quick peek into your world. ;)

  • Comment by Megan — March 3, 2010 @ 9:25 pm

SO wishing I had logged on earlier to read that risky post!!!!

  • Comment by Alyson — March 3, 2010 @ 9:26 pm

I read it too – must have updated right as I logged into google. It was hilarious – I was laughing out loud through the entire post. Definitely not offended – just funny sister talk – that all of us with sisters can relate to :)

  • Comment by jo — March 3, 2010 @ 9:27 pm

oh my goodness…no apology needed! it was hilarious and not offensive in the least! i rarely comment but was sitting back to comment on the “oops post” to say how funny it was. i can just picture a very similar conversation between my sister and me… except my pregnancy boobs were more like 32GGG :)

  • Comment by Dana Fowle — March 3, 2010 @ 9:27 pm

It wasn’t offensive at all. It was hysterical. Anyone with a sister “got it.”

    Darby,

That was seriously the most hilarious thing I have read all day. I think you and your sister are the cutest things ever. The beer + the bra, poor guy…so funny!

  • Comment by Tiffany — March 3, 2010 @ 9:30 pm

I know you didn’t mean to post it, but that was the funniest post ever! I was literally crying from laughter and I didn’t think it was offensive at all. It sounded like some of the IM conversations I have with my own sister.

  • Comment by Raven — March 3, 2010 @ 9:32 pm

Your post wasn’t offensive. It made me laugh and miss my sister in Alabama!

  • Comment by Robynne {Mrs. ATC} — March 3, 2010 @ 9:34 pm

It was probably the funniest thing I’ve read in a while! Sounds like something my best friend and I would giggle over!

  • Comment by Kristi — March 3, 2010 @ 9:34 pm

I saw it too! I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I was cracking and and kept reading parts of it to my sister. It sounds like a convo between me and her. I kept saying I would love to be friends with these two girls in real life. You two are hilarious!!!

  • Comment by MommaRa — March 3, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

I was dying here too. I have a sister and am glad we arent the only ones that talk like that. :)

  • Comment by Lillian - Domestic Simplicity — March 3, 2010 @ 9:37 pm

You completely made my night:) Not offensive, not embarrassing in the slightest and I was SO SO SO needing that good laugh tonight – thank you!

  • Comment by sarah — March 3, 2010 @ 9:37 pm

sounds like you need to re-post it… :)

  • Comment by Cait — March 3, 2010 @ 9:37 pm

I didn’t read it…but to make you feel better, a teacher friend of mine sent out a friendly reminder email to her students’ parents today. Well one parent hit “reply” instead of “forward” and sent back a message to her they meant to send to someone else. The worst part, it was about the teacher. The message was pretty offensive and vulgar…bad parent! :) Thankfully it provided a good laugh at our staff meeting. You’re right…we’re all human…or we wouldn’t need Jesus. :)

  • Comment by Nessa — March 3, 2010 @ 9:39 pm

Maybe it was divine intervention that you posted by error and I was reading when I should have been folding laundry… It made this new and a little overwhelmed mommy’s day. Now that I laughed harder than I have in days – I will erase it from my memory… thanks

  • Comment by Elizabeth — March 3, 2010 @ 9:39 pm

Agreed! I rarely laugh out loud from reading and did so when reading your last post. I actually feel quite lucky that I use google reader and caught it! I don’t have a twin, or a sister for that matter, but you and Erika make me wish I had one EVERY day!

  • Comment by Katherine — March 3, 2010 @ 9:40 pm

I have to confess that I saw your last post in my reader and immediately scrolled down to see what in the world could have happened. Hilarious. Horrifying. I can not imagine the pit in your stomach when you realized it published. I am waiting for my day, because it will happen to us all.

I have to say, I am a long time lurker and have loved your blog forever, but this just makes me enjoy you more. It’s lovely when you get to see the human side of people … not just the side that you want to show.

So bravo! Also, my sister and I are the SAME way. :)

  • Comment by Andrea — March 3, 2010 @ 9:43 pm

So sorry that happened! I got the RSS feed too. Yes, we are definitely all human and blurps happen. But your sweet sister’s story was too funny. She sounds so cute:)

  • Comment by Sherrie — March 3, 2010 @ 9:46 pm

Don’t feel bad. I actually thought it was hysterical. You are your sister are a riot. Hugs!

  • Comment by Whitney Adams Mastin — March 3, 2010 @ 9:47 pm

Aw man! I missed it! Maybe I should get a petition started to have you repost this hysterical, mystery post. You and Erika are so funny and I sure could use a good laugh… nudge nudge

  • Comment by Julia — March 3, 2010 @ 9:50 pm

Maybe you shouldn’t have posted that, but it completely made my night. I just got back from a Dr. apt with my 4th pregnancy and found out my baby girl may have some serious genetic abnormalities. It’s been a lot to take in tonight and my hubs and I have been on our knees trying to sort through these emotions with the Lord.

That being said, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time and I really needed it…really needed it! That post just may have been to lighten my heart a bit. Every bit of it was hilarious, I love the “disk” error and the bra in the drawer couldn’t be funnier or picturing Erika stuck in a room with that guy. He’s going to be telling all of his friends about this hot girl’s bra he got to fondle!!

    Thanks for the laugh!

  • Comment by Leslie — March 3, 2010 @ 9:51 pm

Erika drinks beer? That was the part I found most shocking.

  • Comment by E @ Oh! Apostrophe — March 3, 2010 @ 9:54 pm

That was hysterical; no need to apologize- ha!! You are totally going to be begged to post that again anyways for anyone who missed it- poor Erika!

  • Comment by melissa stover — March 3, 2010 @ 9:58 pm

not offensive, hilarious! people are going to be so upset that they missed it.

  • Comment by The Starr Family — March 3, 2010 @ 10:11 pm

Trying to regain composure…. too. funny.

Now I don’t feel so bad about typing the word “nubby” (instead of hubby) in my comment on here the other day!

ps… realness is not offensive. Its real and a relief.

  • Comment by Lindsey — March 3, 2010 @ 10:13 pm

Hilarious. I have to admit I was a little surprised you posted it, but I thought it was hysterical. Now that I know it was not meant to be posted, even funnier. Much love to you D!

  • Comment by Holly — March 3, 2010 @ 10:17 pm

I hope Craig doesn’t hear about it. Let’s all just pray to that end while we laugh ourselves to sleep. Honestly, that was fun. I did feel like I was reading something I shouldn’t be reading, but kept checking that feeling with “Hey, she posted it”
I’ve had some hiccoughs like that too. I hope you can get over it … Erika too.

I will seriously just pray that Craig does NOT catch wind of it. He’s the only one who could possibly be offended.

  • Comment by Kate — March 3, 2010 @ 10:17 pm

I think I’m a bigger fan of you and your sis after reading it! Too funny!

  • Comment by Staci — March 3, 2010 @ 10:21 pm

After reading everyone’s comments I’m so sorry I missed it!! Consider reposting! :)

  • Comment by mandy — March 3, 2010 @ 10:22 pm

Awww man, can’t believe I missed it…I would definitely sign the re-post petition. Sounds like you made a few people’s nights!

  • Comment by michelle — March 3, 2010 @ 10:23 pm

are you kidding? i laughed so hard. loved it! made me think of me and my sisters… no need to apologize!

  • Comment by missy — March 3, 2010 @ 10:31 pm

No way! It was hilarious. I had to stifle my laughter because I just put my daughter to bed and my desk is outside her room. Really, so so funny.

  • Comment by Kristen — March 3, 2010 @ 10:32 pm

I caught it too, and it was seriously one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. I was actually about to go back and read it again, now that my “rover” is in bed and I have more time to focus, and noticed you had retracted it. I was definitely laughing so hard I was nearly in tears.

  • Comment by kim — March 3, 2010 @ 10:39 pm

please, please, please re-post it! i am curious beyond words from reading everyones comments. i have two sisters that i speak to at least 3 times a day and i would love to hear some good sister chatter. sister chatter is the BEST!!!

  • Comment by Emily — March 3, 2010 @ 10:46 pm

  • Comment by Raylan — March 3, 2010 @ 10:53 pm

You two make me wish I had a sister! No reason to be embarrassed at all. While I was reading this, I could not. stop. laughing.

  • Comment by Kate — March 3, 2010 @ 10:56 pm

Ummmm, I kind of LOVED that last post! I laughed out loud (so much so that the dog judged me – I could see it in her eyes), and then wished I had a sister!

  • Comment by Tutti — March 3, 2010 @ 10:57 pm

Just so happens, I am in Watercolor, here for the weekend to run the Seaside race over the weekend and thought about you as we Dothan. THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST STORY EVER.

I’m glad I read this post before you pulled it, not only am I NOT OFFENDED, but I ALMOST PEED MY PANTS from laughing so hard. My husband doesn’t get it, but I’m in tears.

I can’t believe Erika actually said, “I wonder whose that is?”.

Darby Doll: Are you crying, like me, from laughing so hard?

  • Comment by Megan — March 3, 2010 @ 11:02 pm

I caught it! Too funny! Thanks for a good laugh after a rough day. I think we’ve all experienced things like that.

  • Comment by Jenny — March 3, 2010 @ 11:02 pm

So glad I happened to catch the last post! I, too, thought it was hysterical! I also have a twin sister (we’re 35) and could relate to the whole thing. I think accidentally posting it is what your sis gets for not giving you the advice were asking for:)

  • Comment by herb_garden_sara — March 3, 2010 @ 11:09 pm

Darby, I think you need to repost this thing, whatever it was! Maybe you could have another blog with an alternative identity…. ?

  • Comment by Ali — March 3, 2010 @ 11:23 pm

I’ve never commented before, but a few things: a) this makes me so happy that I use google reader (even though I DO click over to see your advertisers!) because this post is exactly how my sister and I would communicate and therefore b) it honestly makes me like you more! Do NOT be embarrassed. This is what sisters do and say! I have twin 2 year old boys and I hope that they have half the relationship y’all have.

  • Comment by kaneil — March 3, 2010 @ 11:27 pm

don’t be sorry! It was hilarious and made me think of my sisters. Loved it.

  • Comment by Elizabeth — March 3, 2010 @ 11:29 pm

I had no idea you weren’t supposed to post it. I loved it. I have a sister and I have 4 daughters. It sounded perfectly normal to me. Now I wish you would repost it. I can’t imagine what was wrong with it. Oh – and by the way….I’m 58.

  • Comment by csw — March 3, 2010 @ 11:31 pm

Oh, Darby! I am a total blog stalker but the post was hysterical. You two sound like so much fun and are clearly so REAL. Thanks for sharing, even if it was accidental!

  • Comment by Natalie — March 4, 2010 @ 12:47 am

So funny! I love that she was just trying to read a book all nonchalant like nothing happened. I am laughing so hard at that.

  • Comment by Kimberly — March 4, 2010 @ 1:27 am

Okay so please do not be embarrassed! That was one of the funniest posts I’ve ever read. It wasn’t offensive in the least and just made me think of some of the conversations I’ve had with my girlfriends at times. It was a great post, even if it was accidental :)

  • Comment by Kristi — March 4, 2010 @ 1:58 am

awwww I’m SO mad I missed this!!! I have twin boys and they are best buds! And now they have a little sis too :)

Ok if I tell you what kind of really stinky 2 days I had will you repost it??? I flooded my laundry room and then it ran down into my basement, I dropped a bowl of eggs on my kitchen floor and the bowl broke as well with the egg mess everywhere! My daughter UNZIPPED (she’s 19 months old) my purse and UNSCREWED a tiny bottle of hairspray and dumped it all over my purse. I had no idea she was doing this until she walked up to me wanting me to smell her little hand that was dripping with hairspray!!!! Then I backed out of my garage and hit (grazed) the snowblower (luckily no damage).
So feel sorry for me and post it again!!! ;)

  • Comment by Angela — March 4, 2010 @ 2:23 am

I’m new to your blog and I didn’t read it. I’m just glad to know I’m not the only one who has posted something by mistake. I totally understand! I’ve loved your blog even more after discovering you have an idenitical twin like my hubby, and you guys are in the Panhandles. We absolutely love Watercolor and visit once a year. You guys make me long to return more than once a year.

  • Comment by Chrissy — March 4, 2010 @ 8:12 am

I too thought it was hilarious. I kept thinking … wait … this is the blog post she didn’t mean to publish? Why not?? THIS IS REAL LIFE! And really funny real life!!

I’ve never had anyone find my bra in a desk drawer BUT I had a similar situation with an e-mail. My boss was in a FOUL mood and he called me and a co-worker in and totally reamed us out. It was terrible. I sent her an e-mail complaining about him and saying I couldn’t work with him when he’s like this … but I sent it to HIM not her. AND HE WAS SITTING RIGHT AT HIS DESK.

Oh, I thought I was going to die. My stomach fell to the floor. I walked into our computer guy’s office and told him what happened. He was able to delete it from my boss’ system BUT it was so close. My boss ALWAYS flicked to his e-mail whenever one would come in but I lucked out that day … he continued working in another program (the computer guy could tell it hadn’t been opened).

So yeah … computer stuff … happens to all of us.

Darby, I am sorry you are embarrassed. The post was funny and in no way reflects poorly on you or your sister. The two of you are real people living a real life. I am glad you have someone in your life you can laugh and tell stories with and share moments like that. Life would be terribly boring if we all sat around quietly sipping our tea and censoring ourselves constantly. You have a very sweet spirit and now I know you and Erika have very good senses of humor. I can certainly identify more with you now than before!! :)
    Keep your chin up girlie!

  • Comment by Casey — March 4, 2010 @ 10:02 am

The post was stinkin’ hilarious. I was laughing silently (because I was at work) with tears rolling down my cheeks. It is totally something that I would talk about with my best friend, and not the least bit offensive. Maybe Erika will give you the okay to post it?

OH.MY.Goodness. I was having a crummy morning at work and I looked in my google reader and there was this GEM! I needed a laugh so bad, so THANK YOU for making a mistake. ha! No one thinks any differently about you! If anything, it just makes us love you (and E) more! Also, I had been telling my girlfriend to get google reader for months and she didn’t listen…now she’s jealous!

  • Comment by Emalee — March 4, 2010 @ 12:54 pm

I got a Gmail chat from you the other day when I wasn’t at my computer and all it said was “What’s up homo?”. I’m absolutely sure that was for someone else, but it still made me laugh. :) It happens to all of us!

  • Comment by emily — March 4, 2010 @ 12:58 pm

i am so sorry, i read it before seeing this post..please know that in NO way does it reflect poorly on either of you. i know that’s probably little consolation, and that our replies probably don’t help either, but you’ll be able to laugh about it soon enough, we all have these moments. <3

I never comment, but I LOVE your blog (and have for a long time) and I LOVED that post! It was hilarious and reminded me of me, my sister and my best girlfriends. Please do not be embarrassed, if anything it makes me like you and your sister even more because we are all human. :)

Ok-never commented before BUT- I am dying to read that post! I vote for a re-post as well… I think you and your sister should have your own reality show BTW. I would be willing to lobby for it on TLC, Bravo, VH-1,& A&E etc. You have so much material that EVERYONE loves to read about and why not put your awesome pics and blogs to action?!?!

That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time!! No need to apologize or be embarrassed at all – it wasn’t offensive in the least. It was simply hysterical and reminds me so much of me and my best friends.

awww, darby, I wish I’d read it too!! I’ve been homesick for my sister and I can tell you, both of us pastor’s wives have some pretty funny conversations I’d never want posted… though I gotta say, after reading through your comments it’s pretty clear most people would be able to relate!! :)

Poor Darby Doll, no more tears!

Opened up my reader saw the Sorry post and then I had to look…I felt a little bad about looking at first…you know, you said you were embarrassed and it was supposed to be between you and your sister….but I couldn’t look away and can I say THANK YOU! I laughed, out loud! Rolling laughter over and over! The whole entire thing is priceless and that bit of funny will last me awhile! Makes me wish for a sister like that!

Oh my gosh, it was funny and sweet. Do what makes you comfortable, but you shouldn’t feel bad. Everyone seemed to like it. :) I laughed.

Hilarious post. No shame necessary! You are so lucky to have a sister in whom you also have a best friend!

I once asked the creepy IT guy at work (that was proved to TOTALLY be reading my emails) if he had any “Double D batteries” handy. He laughed and said, “No…I don’t think so, do you?” It wasn’t until moments later when I realized that there ARE double A batteries, but no such luck for the D variety.

    Boo.

I loved your post so much, I read it twice! It was a hilarious illustration of the tight bond you and your sister share. One could only be so lucky! Next time, your sister should leave the Cat5 on the table! lol

Oh darn! I missed all the fun! And bummer for me – I guess I’m not subscribed to your blog so it didn’t show up in my reader. I hope you’ll repost it for those of us that missed it! :)
