Hello!
War Eagle, baby! War Eagle! It was a close one, but we’ll take it! “Good game!” to all the Duck readers who came out of the woodwork! What a game, what a game! I won’t lie, I took a little nap in the beginning of the 4th quarter but Justin didn’t let me sleep long!!Β Thank you, Kim for sending the picture above of the “winner wonderland” that Toomer’s Corner became post-game!
- I love $5 flowers that last forever and make me smile at my sink.
- I also loved {past tense} my Starbucks cup with candy cane straw… that I DROPPED and broke and cried. But the straw {as you see} lives on.
- My name is Darby and I cannot keep up with you rovers. Seriously, you’re killing me, in a very good way of course.
- Thank you for your continued support of Honey Bee Tees… and for snatching up those dish mats in about 30 seconds flat! I made a quick trip to my favorite fabric shop last week and restocked for batch 2, can you tell my favorite colors?
- We had VISITORS from the NORTH and the SOUTH this weekend… unfortunately both are in physical therapy from what I call ” iPhone-itis”… what if they were texting each other? I love them both so much that if they insist that I take this picture down, I will!
- On a serious note, these are two of my favorite girls on the planet… in case you’re new, one’s my cousin, the other’s my sister! And the young man swinging the paper towel roll that is on his arm like a pirate’s hook… that’s my son, Rover.
- This weekend we… laughed, cried, shopped, ate,Β and watched movies {BTW Dan in Real Life is an AWESOME, HILARIOUS, and REALLY GOOD movie for adults, and I’m a tough critic!}!
- Sloane slept in Rover’s bedroom with him, but and he slept in his NEW big BOY bed! Unfortunately, she didn’t last all night and when she cried in the middle of the night, I quickly whisked her away to our roomΒ and put her in the bed between us… which resulted in blood curdling screams so her daddy rescued her and this is how I found them Sunday morning…
- The Sea Salt Caramels that you have asked about… I found HERE via Food Gawker. I’m not sure how I didn’t know about Food Gawker but thankfully I have these 2 lovely Auburn girls, who babysit the rovers, who kindly enlightened me about their favorite blogs over Christmas break and they both said, “Food Gawker!” I had to ‘fess up that I didn’t know about that one and now I might be wishing I had been left in the dark… you should go look! I doubled the recipe, used parchment paper, and let them “sit” over night.
- There are a few new designs in the shop, the two pictured above and a train! As well as these **blue light specials**!
Ok, that’s all for now! You all stay warm… and thanks again for all your support!

January 13, 2011 at 8:37 amI have never left a comment on here before, but I just had to say that I ordered one of the “imperfect” sweatshirts for my son (who by the way looks like a younger version of your son!). I love your blog!

January 13, 2011 at 8:42 amRover and the paper towel roll … HAHAHA … oh that’s the best!
AJ
January 13, 2011 at 9:09 amI *so* wish I could figure out that dishmat. I love all your new fabrics too. Just my style.
The paper towel roll is classic. Before I had a boy I just didn’t understand that boys are different than girls. But, now that I have one of each, the difference is so distinct. What makes me laugh though is that is seems like all young boys are the same.
HannahJ
January 13, 2011 at 9:17 amOKAY- you are clearly one popular little saleswoman! I tried to purchase one of the imperfect sweatshirts- and they are ALL alreday gone! Insane! I need to follow your business model!:) Good for you!- great weekend review BTW!

January 13, 2011 at 9:21 amCongratulations Auburn Tigers!!! You did the SEC proud! That was a great game. I’m gonna try and get one of those dishmats this next go round. Super cute fabrics! And I can’t wait to try my hand at making the caramels. Thanks for posting the link to Food Gawker. Perfect name for a food site because that’s what I feel like when I see such yummy little goodies like your caramels. Have a great weekend!

January 13, 2011 at 9:27 amThat game was totally intense, my husband and I were on the edge of our seats, and then quickly on our feet of course screaming at the top of our lungs. War Eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 13, 2011 at 9:27 amI work in the big old corporate america apparel industry. (That incidentally may or may not have something to do with AU football…) And I feel your pain about your production issues! It’s easier to take when the imperfect ones don’t have to come out of your own pocket book. You may already do this, but you should be able to get a “charge back” from your screenprinter if the errors are their part. Or at least we can out here in big business. Just a business tip from me to you! Good luck!

January 13, 2011 at 9:40 amI’ll say this here publically (please don’t hate me) I’m not a football watcher BUT my husband is and he watched the game and ask me to switch from my program to check the score and proceeded to remote-nap the tv contol from me. That game was so exciting that I, miss “I don’t care for football couldn’t take my eyes off the screen!!
Whew, I’m now gonna have to reconsider my non-football watching.

January 13, 2011 at 9:49 amCongrats to your Tigers!! I love the toilet papered Toomer’s… that must be so much fun in person! Interesting, those are my fave colors too and we are finally finishing our kitchen this month in (light) avocado green and retro orange…I think I’ll need one of your dish mats immediately!! Hope you had tons of fun with your sis and cousin!

January 13, 2011 at 9:59 amHi Darby,
I have a bunch of those wonderful Starbucks cups put up as gifts (my sister in-law lives in MN and picked them up on sale for me, guess they don’t need insulated cups in MN!)- I would love to send you one if you would like. Just email and let me know. Love your blog, it brightens my day:)

January 13, 2011 at 11:40 amI love the pic of Sloane with her daddy on the couch. That is good stuff! Also, those cute fabrics would make some really precious “angel wings” or “elephant ears”! I’m about to check out that food blog too. Thanks for sharing.

January 13, 2011 at 11:54 amDarby, I LOVE my dish mat. I’m so glad to be one of the lucky folks who is way to connected to her computer and saw you were selling them. I wanted to make one but love that I have a Honey Bee original, Smarties and all. I thought of you all while watching that fun game in Vegas and even won a little cash on a tiny bet. I walked away with $4.95 cents! Whoohooo!!! War Eagle to you all.

January 13, 2011 at 12:46 pmWill you be re-stocking the choo choo t? These sold out quickly! I follow your blog daily, and poof they are gone. Congrats on such success.

January 13, 2011 at 1:51 pmWhere did you get those flowers?? I’ve been looking for fake flowers just like those and can’t seem to find any that don’t look cheapy!!
Joy
January 13, 2011 at 2:16 pmYeah, I want to know about the flowers too!! I was just thinking about all my lovely vases that need flowers, and I like the “last forever” kind too! π Also, “Dan in Real Life” — LOVE that. I’m especially glad it ends the way it does. The first time I saw it, the last scene was fading and I said, “But I really want to see that they…” and the credits started rolling with what I wanted to see!

January 13, 2011 at 2:25 pmLOVE your choice of fabrics!!! I’m with you on the color choices… they’re awesome! π

January 13, 2011 at 3:21 pm“Dan in Real Life” always makes me think of my brother-in-law’s family which is just one of the reasons I like it.(the bed in the basement cracks me up) I recommend it often at the library. any chance I can pre-order a dishmat? I’d love one but I’ll probably miss the announcement….let me know.

January 13, 2011 at 4:45 pmLove the War Eagle pic!!!!! (and the family pics too!) I was not familiar with Food Gawker till you announced it and it is almost a sin to look at. Check out the Chocolate pecan piecake. It really is over the top. Love you and your blog. hugs, Judy

January 13, 2011 at 6:01 pmAw congrats on the big win! I don’t really even follow college football and I was pulling for Auburn because of all your team spirit! π And it made me smile that you loved Dan in Real Life… it is one of my favorites! My sister and I are always quoting it to each other! Now I’m off to check out your tees… I just had a little boy and I think he may need one for this summer!

January 13, 2011 at 7:59 pmWow, that is a lot of toilet paper. My hubs is addicted to his phone and is on it always, drives me bonkers. Maybe if I post pics on my blog of a day in the life of his phone and how he’s attached to it, it might show him. ha. Great new fabrics for your dish mats and adorable new tees. Already sold out in the train for my sons but I’ll try again another time. thanks!

January 13, 2011 at 9:32 pmHi and Go Ducks! Congratulations on the Auburn win. The better team won. I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now and especially enjoy your honesty.
My husband and I enjoyed “Dan In Real Life”, and we also really liked “About A Boy” with Hugh Grant, which is quirky and interesting with a twist. You may like it, but be forewarned that there is strong language.

January 13, 2011 at 9:50 pmTotally unrelated to your post, but I like what I can see of the paper towel holder in your kitchen. Do you know who makes it or where you got it? I am looking for a silver, sturdy paper towel holder. Thanks!
I am new to your blog and have really enjoyed it!
