First, y’all are too much about the last post! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your kind comments, I honestly wasn’t expecting your response! Glad y’all liked it and I’m also glad some of you were able to get a dress & buttons of your own. I have no affiliation whatsoever with Walmart but if they were to compensate me for my free advertising I would gladly accept in the form of cash, store credit or a trip for 2 to the Bahamas… but I won’t hold my breath for any of the above.

Now, it’s Friday afternoon and I just thought I’d drop in and tell you that I hope your weekends are packed full of friends, fun and family and maybe a good book! We seem to have skipped spring around here and it’s looking more like summer through my lens.

Last weekend looked a little like this and don’t be deceived the water was FREEZING but kids don’t seem to mind:

lake1

lake3

sickrover

roverandmorg

sunday morning3

Also, I’ve had a few emails lately about the grassy eggs I’ve done in years past… it is time to start collecting your eggshells!

finished1

They hit their prime 2 to 2.5 weeks after they’re planted… so I’d plant {if you’d like grass in time for Easter} no later than April 6th.  Here’s a LINK TO THE STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS I posted last year!

Now, before I go, I have to admit that the advertising email address inbox is a little out of control. To the point that emails have gone LONG unanswered and I’m here to offer a public apology.  I’m sorry! I have good reason for not responding, which sounds juicy, but it’s not. If you have recently {here’s where I have to admit how long it’s been since I was able to have control} say, in the last 3 or 4 months, emailed me about advertising and have not heard a response, and are still interested… you can go HERE to this trusty little form {thanks to The Butler}, fill it out and you will receive a response soon. Thank you for your patience & understanding!!

Happy weekend!!

Wally World should totally compensate you. You inspired hundreds (if not thousands!) of ladies to buy that dress. Mine should be arriving any day…I’m hoping it fits!!! :)

I’m a little jealous that you all are actually swimming down south- it makes living in the south seem increasingly appealing- since it literally snowed here in CT-yesterday! ugggg

Super jealous of that nice warm weather (we are in Chicago), and also a bit envious of that midday nap Rover is having – so sweet. But those eggs, those eggs I can do! Thank you!

I’m so glad you reminded us about the grassy eggs…it’s the kind of thing I’d remember the day before Easter and be kicking myself for not remembering, say, 2-2.5 weeks earlier. My husband is on some weird high protein kick so at least collecting eggshells won’t take long!

stop it with the pictures! ahhhh! we had snow showers on and off all day, sigh…
and thanks for praying for Erick; he’s getting better every day, Praise God!
    have a BEAUTIFUL weekend! :-)

Wow, it does seem cool even here in Atlanta for swimming, but I guess the kiddo’s don’t mind the cold water. :)

I went and bought the dress at Walmart today. One reason I love and read your blog is that you share great deals and ways to make inexpensive things look expensive.

One post in particular where you talked about finding your girls Easter dresses at a consignment shop and adding to them stuck out in my mind and I’ve always appreciated the fact that you are not a snob and share these things.

It sure does look like summer! I can’t wait for those good naps they take after swimming it up! The two sweetest smells of summer- sunscreen and your skin after swimming!

Precious lake pictures. The recent weather has been perfect for soaking up the sun! I don’t know about that freezing water though…. but you’re right, kids don’t mind a bit!

Those lake and pool pictures are making me want to go to the beach! Maybe that’s what I should to tomorrow…

I’ve never posted but look at your blog all the time. You have such a beautiful family. I just wanted to say that I have my eggs already waiting to be planted as I remembered your eggs and wanted to do these for my girls this Easter!
Oh, and no fair you’re feeling the warm sun. Up here in Seattle it’s still very cold.

Love the blurry photo of an action packed world swirling around you while reading your kindle. Hauntingly similar to my world!

They look like they had a blast! I can not wait to go to beach and see the ocean as the weather warms up. I need to convince my hubby to let us start collecting our eggs…You have a lovely blog thanks for sharing with us.

I love the picture of your Kindle with the words “let Him” showing in the corner. What an awesome reminder to us all. My oldest daughter had her an outdoor swim meet this weekend. Bring on summer!!

okay I am cracking myself up…I just read what I posted “had her an outdoor swim meet”. I am not FROM south Georgia, but you wouldn’t know that by reading my comment:) That’s what happens when you don’t check your work before 7am!!

how fun!! kids are definitely immune to chilly water!

  • Comment by Lisa — March 28, 2011 @ 10:09 am

I agree with Jessice we could use a post on photography tips. I have the same camera and lens. I want my background to be blurred like yours. Do you shoot on auto, a pre-set mode or manual? Would love some tips from you, you are so talented in so many areas.

Can I pretty please come to your house for Spring Break next week? I won’t bring my kids. Although, my 17 year old, she is a really sweet babysitter. And, my boys would really like it there too. Do you take reservations? (I am not a nutcase I am just teasing, but your home looks so warm, inviting, and just plain fun!)
