53 In Life

And we’re off…

girlsblueberriesBARN

We’re leaving this morning for my parent’s farm in Illinois… a short little 12 hour trip that will hopefully be nothing but pleasant! If you’re traveling down I-65 you won’t be able to miss us, we have an ENORMOUS blow-up water slide bungied to the back of our car {it is deflated but still very large}! I already can’t wait to be there and I’m not even in the car yet! John Martin has promised to be a good little boy in his car seat and the girls have been packing for days so hopefully we’re not short on any form of entertainment.

walk

This picture reminds me that I forgot to pack a stroller. Better go do that… and drink some coffee! And pack my tooth brush.

See you when we get there.

Love a good road trip! Have a safe one! Can I ask a favour? While you are there, could you ask your folks if they would please adopt me? I’m 46, so well past the teen years and financially able to support myself. I love your whole family.

Have a wonderful trip! We just finished a few weeks of traveling with our three kids to visit family. Even the long hours in the car (twelve for us too) were fairly easy and worth the time spent with family! Be safe!

My friend just sent me your blog and I have to say, you are one of the most talented individuals I’ve never met! :). Honestly, your interior design, ‘vision’, and sincerity are evident in every post, your family is beautiful and I commend your daily recognition of living for God. Cheers to you and can’t wait to read more!

Good luck, girl! I don’t ency you for the 12 hours in the car. We did that for Thanksgiving last year, and I would have jumped out onto the highway if not for the portable DVD player. I don’t know how my parents did it when I was little…except we didn’t ride in car seats in the 80s.

Hope your kids get taken by the same sweet drug that ours were on for the road trip. Saying a prayer right now… I prayed it would be good quality time for you and Justin, because those three babies are being so sweet in the backseat that you don’t even know they are there. He’s a big God, right?! 🙂 It hurts to be so far away…miss yall

    Hi Darby,
I am a faithful follower of your blog. I love your wit and your children are adorable.
Now, I don’t know that I’m posting this in the right spot, but i am looking for a recipe that I found on your blog last week and now it seems to be restructured and gone…it was for roast beef sandwiches (a rump roast in the crock pot). Any chance you can help me out with this? It looked super easy and I wanted to try it!
Thanks in advance for your time!!
