When Paige grows up she wants to be a mommy. Thankfully she’s getting lots of practice with Rover for a little brother.
Silence around here is never a golden, unless it’s nap time. John Martin was being way too quiet so I grabbed my camera and when I turned the corner, this is what I saw.
He was having so much fun, he had oatmeal flakes caked in his eye lashes. We have temporarily “locked” the pantry with a ribbon, soon, very soon, I will be placing a Rover-proof lock on it.
Sister is all tucked in at the hospital waiting for baby to come… we’re headed that way early in the morning! Can’t wait to report back soon! If you’re reading this, Erika, don’t worry newborns aren’t quite as busy as little rovers.

September 8, 2009 at 9:15 pmWhen my boys were little I didn’t ever wash dishes/pots/pans etc. UNTIL it was time to use them b/c they would pull everything out of the cabinets and be so entertained in the kitchen floor. It was too much trouble to wash every time so I just shoved everything back in the cabinets and if I needed to bake cookies I’d wash the cookie sheet when it was time. Rover reminds me of those kitchen floor days. it will pass soon, but man…..he’s a cutie! Have fun with the Sister—-how exciting. Both my boys were born on Wednesdays. I’ll be praying that the sun is shining on everyone.

September 8, 2009 at 10:15 pmSeriously, that boy could do anything and I would say all is well and forgive his sweet face! BUT, oh how great it is that you ALWAYS have your camera and capture things like this!
Do you laugh first and then say no…tell him to play it up for the camera and then scold him, or just go with it all? HA!

September 9, 2009 at 5:35 amHow adorable! I think it says alot for your mothering whan your own daughters want to follow in your footsteps.
And yes, it was good to let the little guy rove through the flakes. We all need to roll around in it sometimes.

September 9, 2009 at 7:04 amAbsolutely precious!!!! My Christian adores the Cascade “pellets”…and I would be lying if I didn’t fess-up that he has “tasted” more than one…oh, my! He broke his own “rover” lock and has had a field day…my best to you and Erika and family, can’t wait to hear…on another note, I made your sashets yesterday, if you can call using a glue gun in place of a sweing machine (mine is broken!)…they turned out cute, not nearly as cute as yours but cute!

September 9, 2009 at 11:20 amI think you should do a post on how different it is raising a little boy vs. little girls. I only have boys, but I swear they are so much more mischevious than my nieces seem to be!

September 9, 2009 at 12:42 pmWhat a sweet collection of JM photos. Too cute! And Paiger Raiger is so funny wiping his face. So sweet. It makes me hopeful that when I have more than one child one day, my world won’t come crashing down {at least, not forever 🙂 }

September 9, 2009 at 2:02 pmDarby, I love the whole post!! When Leighton is quiet, usually she is taking all (and I do mean ALL) of the baby wipes out of the container. Oh I know it could be so much worse (oatmeal :), for example) but it makes me laugh and promise that I’ll get there faster the next time she’s being quiet. But I usually don’t! Speedy delivery and no pain wishes to Erika! We’re praying for her little family!

September 9, 2009 at 7:01 pmI love the picture of your sweet little boy lounging in the baking products. That is awesome. Little girls are just born nurturers. I think God really designed them that way. It is a beautiful thing. I love your new website. Stunning!
