The weather has been wonderful for weeks now! We are covered in thick yellow pollen but I’ll take it if it means sunshine and upper 80’s! Easter weekend was beautiful this year, as I almost always remember it being.
The children hunted eggs on Saturday and loved every minute of it.
The little Rover would stop after he found each egg, open it and eat whatever was in it. If it had coins in it he would get mad and throw them on the ground.
We hunted at Justin’s parents house… which is like having an Easter egg hunt at Calloway Gardens… everything was pristine and already in bloom!
The children enjoyed opening Easter baskets on Sunday morning.
…followed by a beautiful Easter service at church to celebrate our risen Savior and lunch with family!
Now, I’m going to switch from pretty Easter decorations to what I saw this morning, which is slightly disturbing…
This is Ariel getting her hair washed, according to Raiger. If you look close you will see that in fact it is only her hair that is wet. I was assured that she needed her hair washed and liked having her hair washed in this manner.
And last but not least… we’ve been outside a lot lately, swinging, sliding and picnic’ing. I learned today that if you give a young man a hose he’s happy as a lark, he’ll get soaking wet, but he’ll undoubtedly be happy regardless.
Hope that each of you enjoyed your Easter weekend… we sure did!!

April 6, 2010 at 4:19 pmThe pictures of the girls’ little feet made me grind my teeth- I just want to eat them up! Also, how weird is it that adorable children and puppies cause teeth grinding?

April 6, 2010 at 8:01 pmDarby –
I just love your blog and reading about your sweet family!
My husband is from Dothan (actually I think he knows Justin – he is Casey Williamson’s younger brother). Anyway, we were there this past weekend for Easter and my MIL and I went to Bella Mia after we saw it on here. Oh my, so cute! I have a little girl and a little boy and I just wanted to either buy or make everything we saw in there! I have added it to my list of stores to go to when we visit there.
Maybe I’ll see you sometime when were in the Wiregrass!
Thanks for all your fun ideas!
Lindsey

April 6, 2010 at 10:16 pmI just had to laugh out loud when I got to the picture of Rover and his trucks. My 2 and a half year old lines up his trucks the same way — with the front end of one touching the back end of another. They have to be perfect. We sometimes move one every so slightly to see if he notices and he always does. 🙂 We’re covered in pollen to here in jackson, ms.

April 7, 2010 at 11:40 amJealous of your weather. It’s not nearly as nice up here in Wisconsin.
I’ve found that the best toys for kids are cardboard boxes and the water hose. Why do I even bother spending money on anything else?

April 7, 2010 at 11:41 amForgot to mention – I found my Mother’s Day gift from one of your April sponsors. I’m so excited about it!!!

April 7, 2010 at 12:38 pmMy son was the same way with his Easter eggs — he loved opening each one to see what was inside. He did like the “money,” though!
