Rover is screaming from his crib

My mind can’t think of a better title right now. Rover is in his bed screaming because he doesn’t want to be in his crib, but it’s 8:32 and all little rovers should be in their cribs at this hour.  Usually I can handle screaming children, but tonight I’m tired and trying hard to not “hear” him… I feel confident he’d stay up all night if we let him.

So it’s been a few days and quite honestly the Thanksgiving adventure wore me slam out. I’m thinking maybe it was the 22 hours that we spent in the car in 5 days.

It’s always really good to be with my family. We packed out the school house for Thanksgiving. I think our grand total was 44. The only person missing was DaddyBoy… he was held captive by his retail employer at the computer and on his Blackberry. He knows all about Black Friday,  jeggings and hoodie tees and to hear him talk about it is HILARIOUS. The first time I heard my dad say “hoodie tee” I thought I’d die. Anyway, I can’t help but think he planned his captivity… considering our family’s Griswold-ness. We pretty much have one {or two} of each character. But what family doesn’t? We even have our very own Aunt Bethany. Despite our “Griswoldness” we are a BIG happy family and proud of our looney-ness.  I love these folks a lot and hate that I only get to see them once or twice a year. Here are a few pictures from the day… I’ll let them speak for themselves…

DDOLL

Y’all, I couldn’t find Darby Doll for over a week. I bought her that cute outfit a few weeks ago, put it on her and then BAM! she disappeared.  The kids helped look, I put out an APB for her and still nothing. Well, I found her Monday {thank goodness} in the bottom of my closet. I’m not sure what she was doing in there but I know she wasn’t cleaning it. I talked to her like she was real, I asked her why she was hiding in there, didn’t she know I was looking for her. Then I took a picture with her and told her next time she pulled those tricks there’d be consequences. If you’re new to the blog, I’m sorry!

I decided to put her on display with the ONLY two Christmas decorations in my entire house.

The kids were thrilled and this is to show Emily that Rover isn’t quite as fond of clothes as you think he may be.

Now for a PSA…
Run, don’t walk, to your nearest grocery store {or in my case, Big Lots} for Peppermint Tootsie Roll Pops. Then tear into the package {after you pay} and ENJOY! Mmmm! I hid them from the kids before they had a chance to see them… theses bad boys are all mine.

When the rovers learn proper hygiene, like not leaving a spoon they’ve eaten off of in the Jif container, putting the  lid back on and putting it back in the pantry… then they can have one of mommy’s lollipops!

And before I completely CRASH….Honey Bee Tees is updated! I will continue to update the inventory in the next few days {more red LS kid’s Christmas Ride tees are coming in!!}. I just added long sleeved Bird Dogs. And I created a FACEBOOK page where you can stay up to date on inventory updates, special offers, and it is a great place to share pictures of your kids in their Honey Bee Tees!!

Good Saturday Afternoon!

Raiger_Indian

Hello Rovers! I think this Saturday afternoon post calls for some bullets. The three topics below: Thanksgiving feast, t-shirts, & attire seen at the Auburn game tailgate.

I was on a roll with my blog posts and then life happened this week and well, I fell off my blogging horse. Other fun things have taken place though…

  • The Raiger had her Thanksgiving party. She was the sweetest little Indian Princess I’ve ever seen. She stayed on stage, didn’t cry and actually sang along with her classmates! Way to go my BIG, BRAVE girl!!
  • Rover is doing a little better about wearing clothes. He still protests but doesn’t rip them off, praise the Lord! Now he needs a hair cut and we’ll see how well that goes over this week.
  • I’ve been busy revamping & restocking Honey Bee Tees and doing more math than I care to do for a while.

ChristmasrideWRAPPED

all3

  • Almost all of the new designs are in for the Christmas season, some will slowly trickle in over the next week. Please keep checking back!
  • I had to change up the shipping just a bit. The new styles are mostly all long sleeved {both for adults & kids} and I can only fit one {two toddler tees at most} in those TINY small flat rate boxes. If you’ve ordered, you know what I’m talking about. So, now I’m using my own shipping bags and will be shipping all tees USPS first class {2-5 day delivery} but a Priority Mail {2-3 day} UPGRADE is available in the shop if you need it QUICK.
  • We are leaving Monday for the Thanksgiving holiday, I was going to be totally insane and bring the tees with me to ship out while I was there, then I realized 1) how insane that idea was considering I only get to go see my family 2x a year and 2) that they wouldn’t fit in our car… so if you order this weekend I will ship it out Monday. If you order late Sunday afternoon or during the week next week it will not ship until Monday {29th} or Tuesday {30th} of the next week. Thanks for your patience.

Christmas Wrap1

  • I also have a Christmas Wrapping option available. Pam at pixelimpress {a very longtime loyal sponsor} was my go-to for the super cute tags that I’d be glad to jot a note on for the little rovers on your Christmas list!

James&Morgan_laughing

  • More styles will be trickling in this week… long sleeved chocolate brown tees with the bird dog screened in white, short sleeved olive tees with the “O Christmas Tree” design {which would be cute over a long sleeved white tee} and women’s long sleeved tees in red with “O Christmas Tree” design screened on the front.
  • Please keep in mind the  long sleeve tees run a little small and are made to fit closer to the body. I would order a size up from what you would usually order. Rover wears a 4 in the long sleeved tees, Paige a 6, and Morgan an 8 {partly because I wash & dry everything}.

ReadingRabbit3

  • I also have a new tote, Sister designed this one for me… The Reading Rabbit library tote! I just love that little laid-back rabbit with his stack of books!

reunion_everyone

Last, I will respond, which usually I’m not good about doing because I feel a little silly answering questions about fashion, etc. But ummm, y’all had a lot of questions regarding what was worn at the Auburn tailgate reunion. Which is kind of laughable to me because I don’t find myself too fashionable, but y’all were really sweet. There was no “dress code” for brown boots but when your team is orange and blue, tall brown boots were apparently a MUST! Ok, so let me see if I can help a sister out… and I’ll share what I know!

  • My shirt was from the summer clearance rack at Kohl’s {$7} and the tag says Apartment 9.
  • My jegs were also from Kohl’s they’re by ELLE and I love them because they’re inexpensive and because they fit good and they’re comfy. Now, I am not so much a fan of the jegs that are mostly leggings, these are about 70% jean and 30% legging. They have a zipper fly and button like regular jeans {but the front pockets are sewn shut}. And they’re great with boots and they are perfect lengthwise for my 5’4″ legs so I can wear them with flats. And they’re completely free of bling {I don’t do studded or sparkle threaded jeans}.
  • My boots were a gift from Justin last year. They’re Luchesse {1883’s in Mad Dog Tan} and I wore them everyday last winter and I’ll probably wear them again everyday this winter.  I’m not seeing them on their website but maybe you could sniff them out online elsewhere!?
  • Erika’s orange shirt was from J.Crew and I borrowed her brown sweater from Saks 5th Ave. {Can you tell we shop different places?} I also carried her cute tobacco colored leather purse by Lucky Brand and maybe if I tell her how much I loved it she’ll give it to me for Christmas, she’s nice like that! 🙂
  • My lip color was found in Erika’s purse: Covergirl Outlast 626
  • My friend Anna Kate was wearing an orange scarf that was made in China. {This is unfortunately only funny if you were there.}

I must go… my house needs me… desperately!!!!!!

Happy Weekend to you all!

And one more thing… I think you all should pick up some fresh cranberries and make this Cranberry Salad Recipe from the archives for your Thanksgiving dinner!

Hi friends!

This will be fast & furious… but also packed. I will talk about tees first, if you aren’t interested in hearing about tees…  s    c    r    o   l    l   on down …

First, t-shirts are restocked! A new tee design and an owl-o-ween trick-or-treat tote are in the mix… read on for sizing info on new long-sleeved options.

Paige was interested in helping me with the photos, however, she had no interest in wearing a Honey Bee tee… instead she went inside, picked out this, with headband & hairbow to match… but was still a little grumpy.

** I am waiting on long sleeved DUMP TRUCKS in bigger sizes {8, 10, 12} and on short sleeved “OFF TO THE BAY” and FLOAT PLANE. When they come in, I will restock, but I am unable to email you and tell you they are instock… so check back if you can!**

Ok, let’s talk about SIZING on these tees because several people have asked questions. I think the short sleeved tees are all true to size, but lean a little more towards the small side than the big. As I mention in the listings they aren’t a big, boxy, beefy Hanes tee. They are intended to be more streamlined. They do have a little extra length to grow with your child. If you intended to put them over a long sleeved tee in the winter, I would order up a size. My children {5, 4, & 2} are all average size {on the pediatrician’s chart}, except JM, he’s small {thin} but tall. He is wearing a size 2 long sleeved shirt above. Morgan is wearing a 6, she is 5. The long sleeved shirts run smaller than the short sleeved shirts, but it’s because they are a different style and are made of a fine baby rib knit… they are intended to fit closer to the body than the short sleeved shirts. I think the size 2 runs the smallest of all the sizes and once it is washed and dried will likely fit a 1 year-old. JM can wear it {picture above} fine, but it hasn’t been washed and dried. I imagine once it is washed and dried he will need a size 4. Morgan {age 5} can wear a size 6 and will be able to wear a 6 after it is washed and Paige will likely be able to wear a 4 once it is laundered. I suggest you don’t put these in the dryer if you want to avoid shrinkage. The long sleeved “asphalt”  colored {long sleeved} tees {float plane & “old truck by bay”} are darker than the {short sleeved} “charcoal” tees. I have reordered short sleeved “old trucks” and float plane and will restock when they come in.

Next let’s talk about SHIPPING… I am learning as I go about shipping. The only way I can humanly ship out these tees is to go with FLAT RATE shipping options. Those of you who have ordered and received tees will recognize I do my best to cram as many little tees as I can into the small flat rate box {$4.95}… three is the best I can do, especially with long sleeved tees in the mix now. So shipping for 1-3 will be $4.95 and shipping for 4+ will be $10.70 {medium flat rate box}… this way you all get your tees quickly and I can ship quickly {insert: not have to weigh and measure each box and it’s flat rate anywhere in the country!!}. All tees are shipped within 24 to 48 hours of  the order being received {insert: I work fast and furious!}. So… if you order a Halloween tee or tote today or tomorrow, it will be there soon… maybe Tuesday or Wednesday of next week at the latest!

Next let’s talk about RETURNS… I will gladly exchange any tee that hasn’t been washed/worn for a different size! If you aren’t happy with your tees and would like a refund… I can certainly work with you on that too!! So far, folks have been pleased and I’ve only had two exchanges for bigger sizes!

Ok, I think that sums it up… if you have questions, ask them in the comments section and I will try to make sure every one is answered!

Moving on to non-tee related business…

breakfast

It was chilly this morning, this is what we eat when it’s chilly… oatmeal with cinnamon sugar, a little syrup, and this morning we were out of milk so we had organic half & half… mmmm! The kids eat it up! And Rover is very much a left handed child!

htc_EVO

I got a new phone. I was using an old flip phone until last week… I have now entered the world of smart phones! In a nutshell, I love it… it’s convenient, fun, and takes great pictures! It’s an HTC Evo with Android for Sprint… I have an iPhone {that I was using from home with wifi} from a friend but didn’t want to pay money to get out of my contract with Sprint and dare I say this little phone can give any iPhone a run for it’s money! 🙂

These shoes were in my post at B*Spoke a couple weeks ago and lot of you asked… they are Poppy by Patagonia, I got them at TJ Maxx last year, I LOVE them but they discontinued {from what I can tell}… but if you can find them anywhere you should snatch them up! Very comfortable and cute.

I’m wearing these today {with jegs that my sister and cousin told me I needed}…

shoes

They’re from Ross and were $8.99… cute but not so comfortable… but $8.99, so I can’t have too high of expectations right!? The label says Self-Esteem… but I don’t see them on their website. Maybe they too are from last year, which wouldn’t be surprising… I’ve been known to be a year behind! 🙂

The kids have been on “Fall Break” all week… we’ve been hitting the park a lot! We have a new playground in town and it totally rocks… I am now a self-proclaimed park junkie.

At the recommendation of a friend we also headed out to our local Botanical Garden to see the scarecrows on display…

The Master Gardener’s were hands down my favorites… with their “Veggie Soup” scarecrows.

Ok, folks… that wraps it up… and now, I need your advice on trains! We’d like to get Rover some trains {on a wooden track}… can all the mother’s of boys advise me on trains and train tables!? What’s good, what works together… and anything else you feel like I need to know!

Happy weekend friends!!
